Founder Story
I'm Julie Swift, and I set up SuperWomb to empower women to understand their own bodies — something so many of us were never properly taught.
Like all women, in our own way, I have lived experience. A stillbirth due to placental abruption (baby Ellie) and four further miscarriages including one at 18 weeks (baby Sam). It was a heartbreaking journey only helped by family & good friends, Sands Baby Loss charity, Princess Alexandra hospital in Harlow and St Marys hospital, Paddington. Amongst and after this journey, we had our two lovely children who are now adults – I'm always grateful for what seemed like little miracles.
Yet SuperWomb is immersive education for the whole lifespan – young girls starting periods at 8, body changes at puberty, young women experiencing early menopause, heavy and irregular periods, PCOS, endometriosis, cancers of the womb, infertility, menopause and prolapse – some of us will choose to have children, others won't and some of us find we don't have that choice – all are welcome. There are endless conversations to be had by girls and women ages 8 to 108.
I hope to use my experience in community development and engagement in the health sector to build SuperWomb – for women and by women.
